Building strong partnerships for greater impact
At UOW Local, we believe in building strong partnerships with external stakeholders. Our goal is to foster and maintain links with business and industry, local community organisations and groups, educators, research collaborators, donors, and volunteers. By facilitating connections between these stakeholders and the University, we help to raise awareness of the depth and breadth of work being carried out in communities.
Sharing knowledge, building communities
Through UOW Local, we provide a conduit for building and forming positive relationships, and increasing engagement between local communities and the University. Our events showcase the wide range of benefits to our communities through the provision of shared knowledge, education, and access to facilities and expertise across a broad range of discipline areas.
Civic university agreements for shared priorities
UOW Local looks to co-create civic university agreements with key community partners across UOW locations. These agreements articulate how we will work together on a clear set of shared priorities to meet community needs. We believe in enhancing our civic and social role by showcasing a wide range of benefits to our diverse communities through the adoption of best practice in knowledge exchange. We will share ideas, research, skills, and expertise with our partners and all our communities.
Advancing equity, fairness, and social justice
At the University of Wollongong, we are committed to advancing equity, fairness, and social justice. We are one of the most diverse universities in Australia, and our campuses across NSW play a significant role in strengthening engagement, social inclusion, and participation. We champion social, cultural, environmental, and economic developments in our regions with a view to drive innovation resulting in change that has an impact.
