Learning development
Learning Development offers free assistance to all enrolled students who may need help understanding assessment tasks or wish to improve their academic skills. Stephane Cordier is the learning developer at UOW Sutherland campus and he will be on campus on Thursdays and Fridays during 2023 for individual appointments. Academic skills workshops, individual consultations and self-access learning resources are available. Visit the UOW Sutherland campus moodle site to book your appointment.
Peer Assisted Learning - PAL
Improve your marks!
PAL Leaders are students who have previously excelled in the subject and have been trained as facilitators. PAL is available on campus for selected subjects each session at Sutherland. See the UOW Sutherland campus moodle site [PAL tab] for further details.
PAL Online is available to anyone studying in the subjects where online is offered, regardless of which campus you are studying at. Find out more about these changes on the PAL website
Students should enrol in PAL within their subject Moodle site. You will then be added to the PAL moodle site (TCHR052_23) to access your PAL sessions. See the link below for further information about PAL or phone 8536 2000 for assistance.
UOWx
UOWx is an initiative that recognises the valuable knowledge and skills that students gain by actively participating in the wide range of co-curricular activities that the University of Wollongong offers outside of a students academic coursework.

Careers
Careers Consultants can assist students to establish career goals and develop employability skills while at University. Offering individual appointments, job seeking workshops, resume checking, assistance in accessing work place learning opportunities and more, you can access free information and resources to prepare you for life after uni. Jackie Simpson is the careers consultant for UOW Sutherland campus and she will be available for phone or zoom consultations during 2023, book via careerhub or call your campus for assistance.
IT Services
IMTS provides assistance with all things IT including user accounts, email, password management, SOLS, internet access and quota, computer labs, printing and copying, Wi-Fi and much more. Visit the website below for assistance.
Counselling services
What is the UOW counselling service?
The UOW counselling service is a free and confidential service providing a safe environment for students to discuss a range of concerns or difficulties that may be impacting on their studies. Some common issues students talk about include anxiety and worry, exam stress, sleep difficulties, problems adjusting to university, relationship difficulties or break-ups, depression or changes in mood, sexuality and gender identity issues, family issues, concentration difficulties, procrastination and coping with health problems.
How do I make an appointment?
Appointments with a counsellor are currently being offered over the phone. To access the counselling service, you will first need to complete the short online registration form found here. Once submitted, a counsellor will be in touch with you over the phone to complete an assessment and discuss how best to support you.
Student Support Coordinators
Confidential free advice and support relating to ANY issue affecting your studies. Your SSAs Tina Edney or Sarah Keech can help you with University processes or policies that may be causing you concern and refer you to the appropriate service for additional support when required.
Accessibility & inclusion
