Motorcycle parking

Parking for motorcycles is available in special motorcycle parking bays across the campuses. Motorcycles can only park in designated motorcycle bays and not in car spaces.

Apply for a vPermit

Students, staff and contractors may be eligible to apply for a motorcycle vPermit.

Permits are issued virtually via the vPermit portal – no physical paper or sticker permits will be issued.

Note: you will need to know your vehicle licence plate number to apply for a permit, and you will need to log in to vPermit and update this if you change the vehicle parked.

Access vPermit via www.vpermit.com.au/uow
If you are a UOW staff or student, log in using your UOW account details. Please ensure you click the blue button 'Log in with your UOW Account’.
On the ‘My Permits’ tab, click ‘Apply for a vPermit’.
Select the 'Motorcycle permit (credit card)' permit from the pre-filled dropdown menu (only the permits you are eligible for will appear).
Enter your vehicle licence plate number/s. You can enter up to two, however only one can be active at any time.
Click ‘Next’
Review the information, and then click ‘Register’.
If you are paying via credit card, provide the requested information and complete payment.
Confirm that your permit is active by checking the ‘My Permits’ tab. The status needs to say "Active".

Switching vehicles parked on campus?

If you change vehicles parked on the campus, don't forget to change the "active" vehicle listed in your vPermit account.

It is your responsibility to ensure the vehicle licence plate number you have selected as ‘Active’ in your vPermit account matches the vehicle you are driving to campus that day for your permit to be valid. If you do not have the correct vehicle selected as 'Active' you could receive a fine.

To change the vehicle registration:

Log in to vPermit - www.vpermit.com.au/uow
Click the 'Manage Vehicles' button
The vehicle with the green Active label is the one that you have currently selected as using the permit (i.e. the 'Active' vehicle). If this is not the vehicle you have parked and you want to change it:
- If the vehicle registration number is already listed, click 'Activate' next to that registration number
- If it is not listed, click 'Edit Vehicle(s)', add the new registration number then click 'Save Vehicle(s)'.

How to pay using the app

In some carparks, you can use the CellOPark app to pay for your parking. You will need to select the motorcycle parking zone (zone number 2522800) within the CellOPark app. Don't have the app? Follow the instructions to set up your account.

Within the CellOPark app, to select the motorcycle zone:

press the 'Scan QR' button in the app and scan the QR code located on signs (in some carparks), or
select University of Wollongong from the drop down menu, or
enter the seven digit zone number (2522800).

You can have up to two vehicles registered on your account, but you need to ensure you have selected the 'active' vehicle when parking.

Press 'press to start' when you are ready to start your parking session.

When you have finished your parking session, you need to press 'press to stop'. With CellOPark, you only pay for what you use, as long as you stop your session as you leave.

Download the CellOPark app from the App Store (on iPhone) or the Google Play Store (on Android).
Enter your mobile number
Complete the registration details
Create password
Set up your credit, debit or pre-paid card.
Select Add Vehicle and enter your vehicle registration plate number.

Are you driving both a car and a motorcycle?

Under the vPermit system you are only able to have one permit at any time, and only one vehicle registration (license plate) number set as "active".

Eligible staff are able to purchase a UOW Entry Permit which allows parking for cars in UOW Entry Permit spaces in P2, P3, P4, P5 and P8 carparks. If you have one of these permits, you can add your motorcycle registration (license) plate numbers as one of your listed vehicles. When parking your car, you must use one of these car parking spaces and have the car registration number set as "active" on your vPermit. When riding your motorcycle, you would need to have your motorcycle as the active vehicle and park only in a motorcycle space.

Alternatively, you could have a permit for one of your vehicles and use CellOPark to pay for casual parking for the other. Please ensure you read signs and park in correct areas.
