As you might be aware, UOW’s current 2019-2021 Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) is at a point of revision. In August 2021, the Indigenous Strategy Unit started our endeavour working closely with Reconciliation Australia, to develop our new RAP. Ensuring that any missed opportunities are readdressed and refreshed in our new 2022-2024 RAP has been the driving force and focus of our UOW Reconciliation Action Plan Advisory Committee.
Working collaboratively with our staff, students and community we have created our new 2022-2024 RAP, a roadmap to advancing and embedding our reconciliation journey at UOW. UOW’s 2022-2024 Innovate RAP is based around the core pillars of relationships, respect, opportunities and governance and will help guide our mission, purpose and vision for achieving reconciliation at UOW and beyond.
Our RAP provides a strategic framework to drive our organisations contribution to the reconciliation movement. It helps us leverage organisational structures and our diverse sphere of influence that create change that reaches the whole nation.
Our RAP will help ensure that our future paths are grounded by continuing to acknowledge the devastating and ongoing impact of colonisation across our multi-campus, where we will hold truth-telling and equality of opportunity at the core of all our business.
