Woolyungah Indigenous Centre (WIC) recently partnered with Aurora Education Foundation, becoming a service provider for the RISE tutoring program. RISE provides academic, cultural and wellbeing support to high school students from Year 8 onwards, facilitated by WIC Student Ambassadors.
One parent commented,
“My daughter absolutely loved it and couldn’t stop talking about it after her first tutoring session.”
Emma Arnold, RISE tutor shared,
‘I took the opportunity to be a RISE tutor as I believed mentoring a young person was a responsibility of mine.”
“It is endearing to watch the student academic and cultural growth.”
RISE operates with partnered schools and communities in the region, with scope to engage more students in the future.
