WIC’s homework centre and Year 11 and 12 Information night
On the 15th of June, Woolyungah Indigenous Centre hosted Senior High School Students and their families for the Year 11 and 12 Information Night.
During the event, our participants were provided with information regarding the advancement opportunities offered here at WIC, scholarships and some of our Student Ambassadors shared their experiences engaging with WIC. We also facilitated more complex conversations around course progression, Postgraduate degrees, ABSTUDY and HECS/HELP. Through this engagement, students were able to experience a little taste about what life at university looks like.
Over the past 12 weeks, WIC has been holding a homework centre/ tutoring space for year 11 and 12 High School students. The tutoring sessions are facilitated by HSC markers on Tuesday and Thursday nights between 4:00 pm-6:00pm and aim to advance knowledge, understanding and application of Math and English skills whilst prepping students for the HSC.
