Why choose UOW?
We are more than just a university—we’re a community that supports students before, during, and after their studies. Our commitment extends beyond academics; we're here to solve global challenges, foster social and academic connections, and develop ethical, innovative thinkers who will thrive in this ever-changing global economy.
A degree from UOW is more than an education—it’s an experience that shapes both personal and professional futures.
Stay in the loop
We know that sometimes information can 'fall through the cracks'. We email a regular newsletter written specifically for parents and carers that lists all of our upcoming events, deadlines and important information your family needs to know as you support a student in year 12.
We send it regularly so that you get the right information at the right time - click here to sign up now.
Helping students choose the right subjects
A student’s university journey starts when they select their senior high school subjects. Our advise is to encourage students to choose subjects they enjoy, excel in, and that will prepare them for their future studies. UOW hosts Year 10 Subject Selection events each year—visit our Future Student Events page, or see below for details.
Finding the right course and pathway
UOW’s Course Finder makes exploring undergraduate degrees easy—search by study area, career, ATAR, or campus location. If you're speaking with a student who is unsure about their options, we provide alternative entry pathways and adjustment factors to help them reach their goals. Learn more on our ATAR-based admission page.
Join one (or all!) of our parent and carer information events
Year 12 is an exciting but challenging time, and we’re here to support both students and their families. Our events and information sessions (listed below) cover everything from HSC support and university applications to financial considerations and career pathways. Connect with other parents, gain expert advice, and access valuable resources to help guide your child through this important transition.
