For all positions you must be an Australian Citizen or have a relevant visa that permits you to undertake paid work in Australia.
General positions are determined by the criteria of the available position.
For casual academic positions you must be a SECTE or ICTR research student (i.e. PHD or Masters in Research) or have already completed your PHD. Persons who have graduated with a degree from SECTE in 2006 or latter may also apply. Undergraduate students unfortunately cannot apply.
When you receive the returned copy of the Casual Academic Authority Form you may begin claiming any hours you have worked. Please note that you must show evidence that you have prepared for your subjects before any of your work hours will be approved.
Claiming your hours for casual teaching positions is undertaken via Web Kiosk. Claims are made fortnightly and are due by midday every second Wednesday. Claims that are received after this time will be rejected. See the section "Pay Claim Dates" for this years claiming schedule.

The processing of pays is conducted centrally by the EIS Faculty Finance Office. Procedures and pay claim dates are as advised by staff from this office

If you are accepted for a position you will be notified via email. You must respond by the advertised date or your position will be offered to somebody else. If you are expecting an acceptance be sure to check your email regularly.
