Rohan Howitt bio:
I am an historian of Australia, New Zealand, Antarctica, and the Southern Ocean, specialising in the history of empire building, state formation, and colonisation in this region. My research lies at the intersection of global, cultural, intellectual, and environmental histories. I completed my PhD at the University of Sydney in 2019, and since March 2019 I have been a Junior Research Fellow in the Laureate Program in International History at the University of Sydney.
Claire Wright bio:
I am a Research Fellow in economic and business history at Macquarie University, Sydney. I am interested in the ways that interpersonal connections affect knowledge, markets, and business strategy. My research focusses on corporate networks, interlocking directorates, the global wool trade, multinational enterprise, and the development of interdisciplinary knowledge in economic history. I adopt a variety of methodologies to understand historical phenomena, including social network analysis, geographic information systems, oral history, prosopography, and archival research. I serve on the executive of the Economic History Society of Australia and New Zealand, and tweet @hereorclaire.
All are very welcome to attend.
