It’s basically what it says on tin. In this new Australian play, audiences watch as three carloads of young people watch a blockbuster in real time, eavesdropping on their hopes, fears, film criticism, evil plans and make-out sessions. Think Gogglebox meets DVD director’s commentary, or a conversation you can’t help but tune into on the free bus into town.
Developed with UOW performance students for an audience on silent disco headphones, THREE CARS AT A DRIVE-IN CINEMA asks: can our everyday drama and conflict match up to the high stakes of action films?
