Speaking in front of an audience is stressful for most of us, but some guiding principles, practice and feedback will help you to be more confident and more successful in delivering your message.
If you are in the early stage of your candidature and preparing for your research proposal review, or wanting to present your research in some other forum, this seminar will give you some guidelines for oral presentation, and offer the opportunity to practise on your peers. Bring a presentation you are working on to get feedback, and help others refine theirs.
Learning Outcomes:
By the end of this seminar, you will have a greater understanding of:
- How to structure a presentation effectively
- The importance of signposting
- How to use visuals to their best advantage
- Ways to engage your audience
- Tips for how to deal with nerves
Who is this for:
Early to mid-stage HDR candidates
