Data visualisation is crucial for effectively communicating insights in the age of big data. It helps individuals make sense of complex data, improve decision-making, and communicate information clearly. This online workshop on data visualisation in R with ggplot2 is designed for academics and HDR students new to using R and RStudio.

Online via Zoom - link will be sent out prior to the event.
In this workshop, you will learn the dos and don’ts of data visualisation, how to craft compelling data stories, use R and RStudio to create your visualisations, implement the Grammar of Graphics approach to create complex plots with ggplot2, and choose the best visualisation for your data.
We will cover a range of chart types, including bar charts, scatter plots, box plots, histograms, and line graphs, and explore the best ways to visualise trends and patterns in data.
By the end of the workshop, you will have gained a solid understanding of the principles of good data visualisation and the necessary skills to create effective visualisations in R with ggplot2.
The workshop will be delivered online over two half days by Brad Wakefield and Professor Marijka Batterham from the National Institute of Applied Statistics Research Australia and costs $110 or $100 when paid via an internal transfer.
