Australia faces a shortage not only in blood donations but also in blood stem cell (BSC) donations for life-saving transplants. The best donors of BSC are young males, and they are also a cohort with a particularly low rate of engagement with blood and BSC donations.
This webinar explores the interdisciplinary research that is aims to increase the pool of blood and BSC donors, through mentoring interventions.
Join UOW researchers, Professor Ron Sluyter, Dr Irit Alony and Dr Gemma McErlean, together with collaborators, Professor Ian Kerridge (University of Sydney), Neil Pennock (TLR Foundation) and Kate Levy (Strength To Give) as they discuss the challenges and the opportunities to drive donations and improve outcomes for patients.
When: Thursday, 26 October, 4-5 pm AEDT
Where: Online via Zoom - Zoom link to join the webinar will be emailed after registration
