Join us for the 2024 3MT Faculty Heats! Come and support our HDR candidates as they present their research in just 3 minutes!
Developed at the University of Queensland, the 3-Minute Thesis competition (3MT) challenges Higher Degree by Research (HDR) candidates to present their research to a non-specialist audience in just 3 minutes. It is an opportunity for HDR candidates to improve their communication abilities, receive feedback from an international peer review, and develop skills related to presenting their research to a broader audience.
Candidates will begin by competing against peers within their faculties, then the Winner and Runner Up of each of the Faculty Heats will progress to the UOW 3MT Final on Wednesday 10 July.
3MT Faculty Heats are one of the few times of year when we can come together and celebrate the incredible research being conducted by our HDR candidates. We encourage staff and students from across the University to join us in supporting the fantastic research being conducted at UOW.

1 pm - 3 pm | Faculty of Science, Medicine and Health
10 am - 12 pm | Faculty of Engineering and Information Sciences
12.30 pm - 1.30 pm | Faculty of Business and Law
