The evening will feature the official opening of the campus by The Honourable Ryan Park MP, Minister for Health, Minister for Regional Health, Minister for the Illawarra and the South Coast. This will be followed by an exclusive fireside chat with esteemed business leaders, former UOW Chancellor Jillian Broadbent AC and Diane Grady AO hosted by Professor Grace McCarthy, Interim Executive Dean of the Faculty of Business and Law,  focusing on the whys and hows of joining a Board of Directors. 

Alumni and friends will also have the opportunity to enjoy drinks, canapés and networking while exploring our state-of-the-art facilities in the heart of Darling Harbour. 

Meet our special guests 

The Hon. Ryan Park MP
Minister for Health, Regional Health,the Illawarra and South Coast; NSW Government

Ryan first joined NSW Parliament when he was elected Member for Keira in March 2011. Prior to this, Ryan attended Wollongong University where he completed his Bachelor of Education and Master of Education (Leadership and Management) before going on to work as a high school teacher at Lake Illawarra High School. 


Jillian Broadbent AC
Former Chancellor, University of Wollongong

Jillian Broadbent AC served as Chancellor of the University of Wollongong for 11 years, bringing her extensive experience in finance, investment, and governance to the role. She is recognised as one of Australia’s most respected business leaders, having held board positions with leading companies such as the Reserve Bank of Australia, Macquarie Bank, and Qantas. She has also been a passionate advocate for the arts and environmental sustainability, serving on various boards, including the Sydney Theatre Company and the Clean Energy Finance Corporation.


Diane Grady AO 
Director; Grant Thornton, Kelsian, and Tennis Australia

Diane Grady AO has been an independent Non-executive Director for a range of Public, Private and Not for Profit organisations for 40 years. She was formerly a Director of Macquarie Group, Woolworths, BlueScope Steel, Goodman, Lend Lease Ltd and the Sydney Opera House Trust. She was also Chair of The Hunger Project and Ascham School and President of Chief Executive Women.
