Hear from exercise science Associate Professor Ric Lovell and neuroscientist Dr Samara Walpole, as they delve into why sex-specific exercise programs and mental health interventions are critical to ensure optimum outcomes.
Both Samara and Ric will present a comprehensive overview of their research in women’s sport and exercise programs in targeted brain- and mental health interventions. The discussion will explore why it is important to cater for sex-specific practices to ensure optimum physical and mental performance.
Their presentations have been designed with a diverse public audience in mind, and this event is open to the general public. High school students are welcome and encouraged to attend.
Each presentation will last 15-20 minutes, and be followed by an interactive Q&A session where the audience are invited to engage with the researchers.
Ex-Matildas player Belinda Barter will join us to explore and recount some of her experiences as a woman in elite sport. Join us to hear some engaging stories from Belinda!
