This workshop offers an introduction to qualitative data analysis with a specific focus on thematic analysis.

This workshop introduces different approaches to thematic analysis using specific research examples. The workshop includes some initial experience with coding and thinking about the development of themes. During this workshop, researchers will code qualitative data and develop basic themes.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Candidates learn about the key features of thematic analysis and how decisions are made within research projects about which type of analysis to adopt.
  • Candidates will receive hands on first experience with coding qualitative data and thinking thematically.
