About the Born of Steel Fund
UOW exists today because of the generosity of our founding donors who gave, without restriction, in the hope of creating a place of higher learning and research in our region. Today, the Born of Steel Fund honours this hope for a better future by providing funding to UOW programs which aim to address society’s critical economic, social, and health challenges.

What your gift could achieve
- $55 - will support us to gather data across the region to identify the drivers of antibiotic resistance
- $110 - will support us to ‘Test drive’ interventions in a subset of the Illawarra Shoalhaven region
- $550 - will support us to buy laboratory supplies to help further life-saving medical research
- $1200 - will support us to roll out successful interventions on a national and international scale
