What we offer

Starting in November 2024, UOW India will offer a range of postgraduate programs, beginning with a Master of Computing (Data Analytics) and a Graduate Certificate in Computing, and a Master of Financial Technology, a Master of Financial Technology (Extension), and a Graduate Certificate in Financial Technology. Our programs are designed to meet the needs of the evolving global job market and to provide students with the skills and knowledge required for success.

Nimay Kalyani

Campus Director 

Originally from Gujarat, India, Nimay Kalyani's professional background spans almost 30 years. He developed his expertise in Quality and Business Improvement in Hong Kong, demonstrating leadership in cross-border operations, M&A, and automation. After earning his MBA and MAF, he contributed to academia at the University of Newcastle (UON).

Senior Professor Eileen McLaughlin

Interim Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Vice-President (Academic and Student Life) 

Professor Eileen McLaughlin is an expert in molecular biology. Her research focuses on reproductive biology, with more than 170 research articles published and over 30 PhD and master's students supervised. She was appointed Executive Dean, Faculty of Science, Medicine & Health at UOW in 2021.

Adam Malouf

Chief Operating Officer and Vice-President (Operations)

Adam Malouf is UOW's COO and Vice-President (Operations), overseeing financial and enterprise strategy, People and Culture, UOW Global Enterprises, and UOW Pulse. Malouf is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and has served as a non-executive director, chairing various board sub-committees.

Marisa Mastroianni

Group CEO and Managing Director of UOW Global Enterprises

Marisa Mastroianni is Group Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of UOW Global Enterprises. An experienced CEO and non-executive director, Marisa is also a member of the Venues NSW Illawarra Regional Advisory Committee and has held senior financial and executive roles in the maritime, health, retirement, and aged care sectors.

Professor Mohamed Salem

President of the University of Wollongong in Dubai and Pro Vice-Chancellor (Middle East and North Africa) 

Professor Mohamed-Vall M. Salem Zein was appointed President of the University of Wollongong in Dubai (UOWD) in 2015 and has held leadership positions with UOWD since 2004. He is committed to enhancing UOWD's standing in the region and has expertise in both technical and non-technical aspects of computing, focusing on software engineering.

Professor Christian Ritz

Dean of Global Academic Affairs

Professor Christian Ritz is Dean of Global Academic Affairs at UOW Global Enterprises, playing a key role in delivering UOW's international education offerings at its global campuses and networks. He is also a Professor in the School of Electrical, Computer, and Telecommunications Engineering and Director of the SMART Infrastructure Facility.

Senior Professor Gursel Alici

Executive Dean, Engineering and Information Sciences

Senior Professor Gursel Alici is the Executive Dean of Engineering and Information Sciences at the UOW. Professor Alici specialises in soft robotics and has led numerous research projects in advanced robotic prosthetics. He has mentored 27 PhD candidates in his professional experience spanning more than 30 years.

Dean of Business

Professor Grace McCarthy is the Dean of Business in the Faculty of Business and Law at UOW. With expertise in leadership, innovation, and coaching, she has significantly contributed to UOW's reputation in business education and her research into responsible leadership is renowned.

Distinguished Professor Willy Susilo

Head of School, School of Computing and Information Technology (SCIT) 

Distinguished Professor Willy Susilo is an IEEE Fellow, an IET (Institution of Engineering and Technology) Fellow, and an ACS (Australian Computer Society) Fellow. Willy obtained his PhD from UOW in 2001. He has published more than 500 research papers in journals and conference proceedings in cryptography and network security.

Professor Jun Yan

Academic Program Director, School of Computing and Information Technology (SCIT)

Professor Jun Yan was appointed Associate Professor, School of Computing and Information Technology at UOW in 2002. As a key member of the UOW-based Institute of Cybersecurity and Cryptology, Professor Yan helps drive the research group's globally renowned work in cloud, network, blockchain and post-quantum security, and RFID technology.

Dean, Faculty of Business, University of Wollongong in Dubai

Professor Payyazhi Jayashree is the Dean of the Faculty of Business at the UOWD. Her research focuses on women in leadership, entrepreneurship, and strategic change. She collaborates with the Dubai Business Women’s Council and is dedicated to enhancing female participation in leadership roles within the UAE.

Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Engineering and Information Sciences at UOWD, Dr Yaish brings over 17 years of IT industry experience from the Middle East and Australia into his teaching and research, focusing on practical applications of advanced database technologies with expertise in Cloud Computing, SaaS, and Big Data.

Dr Manoj Kumar is Associate Professor at the Faculty of Engineering & Information Sciences at the University of Wollongong In Dubai (UOWD). Dr Kumar is renowned for his expertise and research focus on digital forensics, image processing and application of ML in digital data security.

CSIT881: Programming and Data Structures 

Dr George Tsaramirsis is an Associate Professor at the School of Computer Science at UOWD. His academic and research interests include Cybersecurity, AI, and Data Science. Dr Tsaramirsis is recognised for his contributions to both the academic and practical aspects of IT, blending extensive industry experience with a robust academic background.
