Congratulations on receiving an offer to study a University of Wollongong degree at our UOW India GIFT City campus.
The information below will provide you with a guide to getting started at UOW India. Follow these three steps before commencing your UOW program.
1. Orientation
Your chance to discover everything UOW India has to offer and make new friends.
Your orientation is an essential part of starting at UOW India and is compulsory for all students. At your orientation, you'll receive important information about your course and learn about the range of support, services, and opportunities available to you as a UOW India student.
Students will receive an email at least 2 weeks prior to the start of the session with details of how to register for orientation and the session details.

2. New Student Enrolment Process
Online enrolment before the session is not available for new UOW India students. Enrolment will be facilitated during the orientation session when you arrive.
3. Student Handbook
Become familiar with your Student Handbook, which will be provided by the UOW India admin team.
From day one, we want you to feel confident about your transition to university. These modules will prepare you for your studies and ensure we are all contributing to a safe and welcoming UOW community.
If you do not complete the below modules by the end of your first session your results will be withheld. Once you have completed the programs, it will take up to 24 hours for your results to show.
StartSmart
Academic integrity is a core value at UOW. It involves acting with honesty, fairness, trust and responsibility, and requires respect for knowledge and its development.
By becoming a student of UOW, you have agreed to become a member of the UOW academic community. This means that you are expected to:
- Produce original work
- Acknowledge the work of others through referencing
- Take responsibility for your learning
- Contribute fairly to group assessments
- Complete assessments and exams without cheating
StartSmart provides essential information skills to introduce you to the UOW academic environment and help you understand your student responsibilities. StartSmart will show you strategies and resources available to assist you in completing assessment tasks, and develop strong academic integrity practices.
This module is compulsory for all new students and must be completed within 60 days of commencing studies at UOW. You will need to have completed your enrolment and have successfully accesses Moodle to access StartSmart. Please contact uow-india@uow.edu.au if you require assistance.
