The University of Wollongong Library is excited to announce the receipt of a donation from one of Australia's most distinguished poets and UOW Honorary Fellow, Alan Wearne. This generous donation of Wearne’s published works embodies the breadth and depth of his contributions to contemporary Australian poetry.
Alan Wearne, a celebrated figure in the UOW Arts, Social Sciences and Humanities faculty as well as the Australian literary scene, writes compelling poetry with a keen eye on the nuances of Australian culture and society. Wearne lectured in creative writing at UOW from 1998 to 2016, teaching and inspiring new generations of poets for over eighteen years, and was made an Honorary Fellow in 2021.
