Marketing scholarship for Campus East resident

Financial strains have eased for one UOW student who is the recipient of The Illawarra Mercury Marketing Work Integrated Learning Scholarship.

Claire Creswell is a final year Communication and Media Studies (Dean’s Scholar) majoring in Marketing and Advertising. She is now a resident at Campus East where she is an Activity Officer Leader.

The internship involves working one and a half days a week at The Mercury with Claire starting on Friday 9 May.

To gain the scholarship, Claire had to submit an application and then be interviewed by the Mercury’s marketing manager along with two representatives from UOW.

“This scholarship offers me the opportunity to gain first-hand experience in the field of marketing. The experience will help promote me on my resumé for future employment opportunities.

“It will allow me to work with media professionals and hopefully acquire contacts who may assist me with my career after graduation,” Claire said.
