Servcorp deal gives Illawarra more business innovation options
Innovation Campus to offer more options for business growth, innovation and flexible work.
Innovation Campus will now offer the Illawarra region even more options for business growth, innovation and flexible work thanks to a partnership with international serviced office provider, Servcorp.
Servcorp, one of the world’s leading providers of quality serviced offices, virtual offices and co-working spaces, will establish a new facility at the 33-hectare beachside campus close to Wollongong’s CBD comprising:
• Flexible, unbranded furnished offices
• Co-working spaces
• Virtual offices
• Telephone answering and reception services
• Professional meeting rooms, boardrooms and training rooms.
The new facility will complement UOW’s existing iAccelerate program which, in addition to office space, provides qualifying businesses with a fully-fledged business incubator, acceleration, mentoring, education and development program.
The new Servcorp facility will offer flexible office solutions for clients ranging from large corporations or government agencies wanting to provide a professional work environment for locally-based telecommuting staff who would otherwise have to work from home, through to medium or even smaller businesses that are not part of the iAccelerate program.
Construction of the new facility started this month and is expected to be completed and ready for tenants in March 2016.
Local users of the new Servcorp Innovation Campus facilities will also have access to Servcorp’s global network of similar serviced offices in 140 locations across 21 countries via Servcorp’s IT platform and membership benefits along with facilitated access to the expertise of UOW researchers and other academics.
UOW Commercial Developments Director Gary Hudson says having Servcorp’s offerings alongside the iAccelerate program and commercial leasing opportunities means the Innovation Campus can now offer a complete suite of options for a wider range of organisations.
“We know there is demand for this type of flexible space as more employers look for innovative ways to help employees balance work and life or want to regularly do business from professional local facilities without investing in a permanent office of their own.
“For UOW, meeting this need in partnership with Servcorp enhances the Innovation Campus’ standing as a collaborative academic and commercial environment that is helping attract, grow, develop and support innovative businesses in the Illawarra,” Gary said.
Marcus Moufarrige, COO at Servcorp said, “This new venture underlines Servcorp’s commitment to innovation. This includes innovation of new work environments such as 5-star professional co-working and investment in its global technology platform.
“As the Australian economy transforms into a services based export economy, innovation will be the key to our success.
“Servcorp has always been and intends to continue supporting innovation for businesses big and small, and working with the University of Wollongong’s Innovation Campus is a perfect fit. We believe it will produce great results,” Mr Moufarrige said.
