Global mobility partner institutions attend UOW’s inaugural ‘Partner Day’

UOW is strengthening its international ties conducting its inaugural global mobility  ‘Partner Day’ on 25 February – timed to suit staff from UOW’s global student mobility partners attending the Asia-Pacific Association for International Education (APAIE) to be  held in Melbourne from 29 February to 3 March.

UOW will also be represented at its booth in the Australia Pavilion at APAIE to facilitate meetings with its current and prospective mobility partners – institutions which host UOW’s outbound exchange students, and whose own students attend UOW to undertake study abroad, exchange or visiting research programs. 

The APAIE Annual Conference and Exhibition is the key forum in the Asia-Pacific region for bringing together policy-makers and education experts from around the world to improve professional skills and learn about new developments in international education. 

UOW’s Director of International Engagement and Co-ordination,  Mr Peter Day, said Wollongong had arrangements with 200 mobility partner universities in total. The University has a strong international focus and reputation attracting more than 500 international students a year for  short term studies at its Australian campuses. 

The overseas visitors, drawn from 15 of UOW’s international partners, had an opportunity to first visit UOW’s Sydney Business School at Circular Quay before a full program of campus tours and faculty overviews on the main campus coinciding with the autumn session O week.
