UOW hosts Eastern University Games
The Rio Olympics are almost here, and Olympic fever is spreading as Wollongong hosts the 2016 Eastern University Games.
The largest university sporting event to be held in Wollongong this year, the 2016 Eastern University Games, has kicked off, attracting more than 3,000 student-athletes from across NSW and the ACT to the region.
The four-day event is the largest of four regional games held annually in July by Australian University Sport. The active participants will take part in up to 20 different sports including football, hockey, AFL, basketball, and lawn bowls.
