Two-way mobility of students supported through Government funding.
The University of Wollongong has been awarded $773,500 in mobility funding as part of the 2018 Australia Awards – Endeavour Scholarships and Fellowships.
Officially announced by the Minister for Education and Training, Senator the Hon. Simon Birmingham, the Endeavour Mobility Grants program fosters the development of ongoing research relationships at an institutional and individual level across the world.
Five recipients from UOW have been offered a place to undertake professional development, study or research overseas.
UOW Associate Professor Stuart Johnstone was awarded the Endeavour Executive Fellowship and will travel to Peking University, China in 2018.

In addition, 10 international students and researchers have been awarded funding to visit UOW under the program.
The total value of these scholarships is $773,500.
Almost 700 Endeavour Scholarships and Fellowships were offered in the 2018 round nationwide, valued at $43.4 million over the life of the scholarships and fellowships.
Increasing the two-way mobility of students, researchers and academics and providing opportunities for researchers and institutions to be at the cutting-edge of discovery and application is a key goal of the National Strategy for International Education 2025.
Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Global Strategy) Alex Frino, described the scholarships outcomes as a significant win for UOW.
“UOW has seen a significant increase in Endeavour Mobility Grant funding for 2018, with a 31 per cent increase compared with the 2017 round.
“The number of grants awarded has also increased by 22 per cent compared to last year.
“This is a very positive outcome that supports our ongoing efforts as a global institution to maximise opportunities for UOW students to have an overseas study experience,” Professor Frino said.
