Wollongong campus security alert

Statement regarding security alert at UOW's Wollongong campus. 

A UOW staff member received information about a security threat and campus security was contacted immediately (at approximately 10.20am on Monday 6 February).

The campus-wide alert system was activated via a public announcement system and staff were evacuated in accordance with those procedures.

Shortly after, the threat was isolated to building 19, allowing all other staff to return to work at their respective locations.

Police on site are conducting a controlled inspection of building 19.

More information will be provided shortly.

Update 12.15pm

Police and UOW security officers have resolved the incident and staff were able to re-enter building 19 at about 11.30am.
