Discover your future at UOW Open Day

Prospective students can explore the campus and gain valuable insights from experts

The University of Wollongong (UOW) will host its highly anticipated Open Day on Saturday, 5th August, offering prospective students an opportunity to explore the campus, gain valuable insights, and make informed decisions about their educational journey in 2024.

Open Day offers an immersive experience, featuring comprehensive course information and dedicated advisors. With over 100 information sessions scheduled throughout the day, attendees can delve deep into the various study options, learning pathways, and potential career opportunities, setting them on the right course for their future.

One of the standout features of this year's Open Day is the Early Admission application Help Hub. Prospective students can receive personalised guidance and support in navigating the application process, making it easier for them to secure a spot in their desired course early on. It provides eager learners an opportunity to take the first step towards their academic aspirations with confidence.

To ensure attendees gain a complete perspective of life at UOW, guided campus and accommodation tours will be conducted. Participants can witness the state-of-the-art facilities, cutting-edge research centres, and the vibrant campus atmosphere that fosters a conducive learning environment. These tours also offer a glimpse into the comfortable and modern accommodation options available, ensuring students feel at home while pursuing their education.

There will be a Sports Zone set up on the McKinnon Lawn offering a great showcase of sport at UOW. Representatives from the UOW Tottenham Hotspur Global Football Program and UOW Crusaders Global Rugby Program will be there, along with displays from Uniactive and student sporting clubs. Representatives from the St George-Illawarra Dragons, Illawarra Hawks, Illawarra Stingrays, Wollongong Wolves and Macarthur FC will also be there.

Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Vice President (Academic and Student Life) Professor Theo Farrell said the Open Day will provide students with an in-depth understanding of UOW’s offerings and various pathways for securing a spot at a world-class institution.

“Open Day is more than just an event; it is a gateway to boundless opportunities and a transformative education experience,” Professor Farrell said.

“We aim to create an inclusive environment where students can explore, connect, and envision a future that aligns with their passions and ambitions.

“Interactivity will be at the forefront of the event, as prospective students have the unique opportunity to engage in one-on-one conversations with course experts and current students. These interactions will provide valuable insights into student life, the campus community, and the various academic disciplines offered, empowering attendees to make confident decisions about their educational journey.

“Open Day is open to all high school students, parents, and anyone interested in embarking on their higher education journey. UOW warmly invites you to join us on Saturday and be part of this enlightening experience.”
