MyLot wins GovtTech Project, Product or Service category at InnovationAus 2024 Awards for Excellence

A number of iAccelerate resident companies featured as finalists at the recent InnovationAus 2024 Awards for Excellence.

MyLot, a generative AI assistant, built to simplify planning approvals for applicants and councils, won the GovtTech Project, Product or Service Award and was also a finalist in the AI Industry Pioneer category.

In the context of the housing crisis, growing application delays and a nation-wide shortage of planners MyLot is a game changer for all stakeholders in the system.

MyLot has been co-designed with local government to reduce the volume of low-quality applications and requests for further information through early access to planning information at the idea stage through conversational AI.

This front-loading approach to planning information empowers users, improves the relationship between applicant and Council and reduces the holding costs of development leading to productivity gains.

Verbotics, which makes smart software to automatically program industrial robots, making robotic automation accessible for all manufactures, large and small, was a finalist in both the Manufacturing Innovation Award and the Translation Hero Award categories.

iAccelerate resident Green Gravity was a finalist in the Energy and Renewables Award category. Green Gravity uses disused mines to store energy. This allows renewable energy to be used when it is needed.

iAccelerate Director Tamantha Stutchbury said these results are a testament to the quality of the innovation ecosystem in the Illawarra.

“We have a thriving start up community at iAccelerate with innovative companies tackling challenges linked to housing, advanced manufacturing and renewable energy,” Dr Stutchbury said.

“We are thrilled to see MyLot, Verbotics and Green Gravity receive this recognition.”

The InnovationAus Awards for Excellence 2024 celebrate the translation of Australian ideas and research into commercial success and social impact across a wide range of categories.
