Dear students, I hope you and your loved ones kept safe during the storm front that hit the NSW coast over the weekend.

In recent weeks they’ve covered stories about , and Whether you’re interested in journalism, finding out more about the research pathways you can take at UOW, or just like to be kept in the loop, I encourage you to check in every now and again. As students, it’s incredibly inspiring to understand more about the world-leading research and innovation happening across UOW.

Global Climate Change Week is here

I’m very pleased to say we have a range of online and in-person activities and seminars organised around the theme of ‘Planet-Positive Partnerships’ for Global Climate Change Week. Please check out UOW’s . It’s set to be a really informative and important week across UOW, so please get involved using the hashtag #UOWGCCW and

Also don’t forget to join us as we celebrate Global Climate Change Week this Saturday night at UOW’s Op Shop Ball from 6pm-10pm at our Innovation Campus. Bring your friends and join us for an evening of sustainable sourced food, entertainment, and Op Shop fashion show. Tickets are only $25 and include a 3-course meal.

Mental Health Month (October)

Looking after our mental health has never been more important, so as we focus our attention on Mental Health Awareness month this October, please take the time to visit this wonderful website which provides a guide to mindful habits for better mental health – with simple but impactful suggestions like getting an early night, taking the time to being creative, staying hydrated and quitting doomscrolling.
