University of Wollongong’s (UOW) John Bustillo, a PhD candidate at the Centre for Medical Radiation Physics, visited the UOW Innovation Campus and the Intelligent Polymer Research Institute (IPRI) this week to give a guest seminar talk on his work, looking at achieving radiological tissue equivalence using additive manufacturing technology for experimental radiation therapy, imaging, dosimetry and radiobiology.
This talk was titled ‘Achieving Radiological Tissue Equivalence Using Additive Manufacturing Technology for Experimental Radiation Therapy: Imaging, Dosimetry, and Radiobiology’. This seminar presentation saw John deliver an excellent presentation including an overview of different additive manufacturing materials, such as polymers, ceramics, metals, hydrogels as well as 3D printed phantoms.
John’s talk was part of the regular IPRI Seminar program run each week at the Institute to present findings to a diverse interdisciplinary audience. This enables new collaborative activities to be initiated, accelerating progress for all concerned and giving the opportunity to researchers - both internal and external early career and senior researchers - to showcase their work and present their latest findings.
A number of additional external guest talks are set for the remainder of the year at IPRI, including talks from Dr Pia Winberg from Venus Shell Systems, Dr Majid Ebrahimi from UTS, Prof Andrew Minett from Sicona, Dr Erin Saricilar from Wollongong Hospital, Prof Simon Moulton from Swinburne University and more.
