Dynamic Coasts Symposium
Response to human and climate drivers
We welcome invited guests to a FREE two-day symposium on Wednesday 7 and Thursday, 8 February, 2024 at The Ocean Room, Central Building UOW Innovation Campus North Wollongong NSW, re-visiting coastal themed scientific research undertaken in the Illawarra, NSW and beyond over the last 30 years.
About the Symposium
Coastal scientists will present on current and past research and practitioners will update us on current initiatives in the coastal space. Panel discussions will explore how scientific research can inform the management of current and future challenges.
The workshop themes are:
- Beaches and Dunes
- Morphodynamics and Modelling
- Estuaries
- Coastal Wetlands
- Rocky Coasts and Nearshore Environments
- Reefs and their Low Lying Islands
- Indigenous Knowledge of Coastal Landscapes
- The Role of Science in Management
You must register your attendance so we can plan for you accordingly.
Optional function - Symposium Dinner
Date and time: Wednesday, 7 February, 2024, 6.30pm – close
Venue: The Lagoon Seafood Restaurant, Stuart Park North Wollongong
Dress: Smart casual
Cost: $69 Canapés and then sit-down main and dessert courses.
Additional guests are welcome at the dinner, however places are limited, so please book early to avoid disappointment.
Please note tickets must be purchased by Friday, 1 February, 2024
You will be responsible for purchasing your own drinks at the venue.
