GeoQuEST is well equipped for field research in the most isolated parts of the continent with:
- truck-mounted, trailer-mounted and other portable drill rigs,
- vibrocorer,
- surveying equipment,
- 4WD vehicles
- boats including the "Pure Logic" marine research vessel
- radios (codan & VHS) and
- global positioning systems (GPS)
The following GPS equipment is used for both research and undergraduate teaching:

- 5 Garmin eTrex
- 1 Trimble M3 2" total station (reflectorless)
- 1 Mala Ground Penetrating Radar
- 1 Trimble RTK GPS base station and rover
- 1 Trimble GoeXH 2008 mapping GPS
