That’s why we’ve developed Career Launchpad and the Career Quiz - two interactive career development tools designed to help you explore your options, identify your strengths, and develop the skills employers are looking for. Engaging with these tools early in your studies at UOW will give you a head start in planning and building a meaningful career.
Career Launchpad
Career Launchpad is an optional career development program designed specifically for first-year undergraduate students or those in the early stages of career planning. The earlier you start thinking about your career, the more confident and prepared you’ll be to seize opportunities and make the most of your degree.
By engaging in Career Launchpad, you will:
- Gain clarity about your values, skills, and interests—and how they align with different career paths.
- Learn about emerging career opportunities and how your degree connects to a changing world of work.
- Identify career-enhancing experiences at UOW—including internships, mentoring, networking events and co-curricular opportunities.
- Understand how to build key employability skills that will set you apart from other graduates and boost your chances of getting the job you want.
- Learn how to access free career services and ongoing support from UOW’s Careers & Employability team.
The Career Quiz is integrated into the program to help you to understand your skills, values, interests and personality (see details below).

Career Quiz
The Career Quiz is a career assessment tool that helps you make informed study and career decisions. Whether you’re just starting your degree or considering your next step, this quiz provides personalised insights based on five key areas:
- Work Interest Assessment – What types of work environments and activities suit you?
- Personality Assessment – How do your personality traits influence your career choices?
- Leisure Assessment – What hobbies and interests could translate into career opportunities?
- Values Assessment – What workplace cultures and roles align with what matters most to you?
- Skills Assessment – What strengths do you already have, and where can you improve?
The quiz will take you approximately 20 minutes to complete. These insights will help you make strategic study and career decisions, boosting your confidence as you plan your future.
How to access the Career Quiz
For first-time users:
- Go to the Career Quiz platform.
- Select “Create a new account.” Note: Do not use your UOW credentials as this is an external third-party site. You may wish to use your name, another word or a personal email address for your username. Do not use your UOW email address as your username.
- Complete the required fields.
- When prompted, enter the access code: careerscentral
- Once your details are submitted, you’ll be logged in and ready to take the quiz.
If you’ve accessed the quiz before, simply log in.
Note: The Career Quiz is a U.S. developed assessment tool. Some of the industry information, particularly the Outlook, Earnings and Professional Associations under the ‘Explore the Possibilities’ section is based on American information. For Australian-specific career information, refer to the Recommended Tools and Websites section at the end of the quiz.
