Follow this step-by-step guide to re-enrolment so that you can lock in your preferred subjects and plan ahead for your next session.
Subject enrolment for Spring and Trimester 3 2024 is now open. Follow the steps below to enrol in your subjects.
1. Choose your subjects
Find out which subjects you are required to complete by referring to the Course Handbook:
For Spring Session students:
- Search the UOW Handbook for your course name.
- On your course page, use the drop-down menu underneath the course name (in the dark blue header) to select the year that you commenced your course and your campus, delivery mode, and session.
- Scroll down to ‘Course Structure’ where it specifies the number of credit points you must complete. Here you will find a list of subject requirements for your course, plus information about majors, minors, or specialisations.
If you get stuck the Handbook User Guide provides instructions about how to use the handbook, or you can check out the FAQs.
For Trimester 3 students:
Find out which subjects you are required to complete by referring to the study sequence for the year and trimester you commenced your studies. To view past study sequences, refer to the Sydney Business School Student Handbook.
2. Read the Subject Timetable
The Spring and Trimester 3 Subject Timetables are available to view on the Timetabling website. The Subject Timetable outlines how, where and when classes will be delivered for each available subject, so that you can plan ahead. Once you have enrolled in a subject, these details will also be available in SOLS under ‘Timetable > Subject Timetable’. For more information visit the Timetable FAQs page.
Please note that Timetables are subject to change leading up to and during the first 2 weeks of session. Refer back to Subject Timetables regularly for updated information.
3. Enrol in your subjects
- Log in to SOLS and select ‘Enrolment and Variations’ from the left-hand menu.
- Type the subject code into the ‘New Subject Code’ field. If your subject code has only three letters (followed by 3 numbers), ensure that you type in a space after the letters. E.G. LLB110 should be entered as ‘LLB 110’.
- Click ‘Add Subject’.
- The subject code will appear in the search function. Click ‘Add’ to add the subject to your enrolment. If more than one search result appears, ensure that you are adding the correct subject code (i.e. For the correct session, delivery mode, and campus location).
- Continue to search and add subjects until you have enrolled in all your subjects for the identified teaching period.
After you’ve enrolled, you can vary your enrolment details, provided changes are made within the permitted date periods.
If you are having issues, please see 'What do I do if I can't enrol in my subject via SOLS?'.
4. Enrol in your tutorials
- Select 'Enrolment' on the left-hand menu in SOLS.
- Click 'Tutorial Enrolment'.
- Click on the class type to see the class schedule (available times for each class).
- Click on your preferred class (from those classes highlighted in yellow).
- Click on 'Enrol Now' at the bottom of the page.
- Continue this process for each of your available classes and subjects.
Please note that classes can be scheduled anywhere between 8.30 am - 8.30 pm on weekdays, and some Spring Session classes may run on weekends.
Check SOLS regularly to ensure that you do not miss out on enrolling in your preferred tutorials. You can also find information about tutorial enrolment opening dates by selecting your faculty on the tutorial enrolment website.
International students
International students are required to enrol in a full-time load unless you have been given approval to reduce your study load due to a valid reason (compassionate and/or compelling circumstances). If you need to discuss your study load, please contact the AskUOW team.
Sydney Business School Trimester students who wish to discuss their study load should book an appointment with the relevant Head of Students (HoSt).
Restricted or pending course status
- If you are on a restricted course status, you will need to make an appointment to speak with your Faculty or HoSt to get academic advice and approval before you can re-enrol. You can make an appointment via the AskUOW team.
- If you are on a pending course status and are awaiting the result of a subject from a previous session or an outcome on another matter, for now you should still enrol into at least one subject.
Leave of Absence
If you do not wish to study in Spring or Trimester 3, 2024 but want to keep your place in your course open, you must apply for a Leave of Absence.
