As we start the 2024 academic year, it's important to know how you can access support services at UOW.
UOW is more committed than ever to supporting student success, so we've made a number of exciting changes to support services. Make sure you know how to get the support you need, and remember that accessing support is a sign of strength – please reach out whenever you need assistance.
1. New policy
We've introduced a new Support for Students Policy outlining the University’s commitment and approach to supporting students to successfully progress through their studies.
2. New programs and services
We've introduced a range of new support programs and services, which you can view on the support services website.
3. Student Success Portal
We've launched an exciting new portal for all things support! You'll be able to book appointments, sign up to programs, chat to mentors and advisors, and much more.
Sign in with your UOW username and password and setup an account to get started.
4. New student support spaces
Student Support and Success Precinct, Wollongong campus
This new precinct is your one-stop-shop for student support including:
- Support and Wellbeing, including Counselling services
- Student Accessibility and Inclusion (SA&I)
- Peer Assisted Study Sessions (PASS)
- Safe and Respectful Communities (SARC)
- Student Success Hub
- Student Support Coordinators
- Careers and Employability (C&E)
- UOWx
Located on the ground floor, Building 19, Wollongong campus – turn right at the top of the rainbow stairs and head through the courtyard.
Academic Skills Centre, Wollongong campus
If you’re looking to improve your academic performance and study skills, then our new Academic Skills Centre is for you! Here you can access the following services via drop in or appointment:
- English language support
- Learning skills support (referencing, writing, research, academic integrity support)
- Maths skills support
- Peer Learning Coaches
Located on the ground floor, Library, Building 16, Wollongong campus
Student Success Hub, Liverpool campus
The new Student Success Hub is your one-stop-shop for support, including all the services listed above.
Located on Level 1, Liverpool campus
Accessing support on other campuses
Students from Sutherland, Sydney CBD and regional campuses can seek support from your local campus office in person, via email or phone. All the support services listed above are also available online.
