Chaplain stands to talk to three sitting students and staff

Multifaith Chaplaincy service

The Multifaith Chaplains are independent of the University, but they work closely with students and staff, often collaborating with campus religious clubs and societies to build valuable connections between the university and the broader religious communities.

The Multifaith Chaplaincy serves both students and staff, offering support that values the whole person and fosters an environment of mutual respect, self-esteem, and the achievement of personal and academic goals. Each chaplain's role may differ according to their religious traditions, but they all work to enrich campus life through meaningful support and guidance.

How Chaplains can help

Pastoral care
Chaplains offer pastoral care, complementing university support services by addressing personal and social needs. They foster community through personal advice, spiritual guidance, and social connections, particularly for international students and those far from home.

Spiritual support
Chaplains offer a variety of religious services and activities tailored to diverse faith traditions, such as seasonal festivals, contemplative practices, prayer, liturgical worship, and scripture study.

Religious teaching
Chaplains may provide religious teaching and opportunities for dialogue and discussion in line with their faith traditions.
