How is this program run?

What will I do?
As a native speaker of the languages we offer at UOW, you will meet with language learners at least once a week and practice bilingual speaking.
Native speaker volunteers are required to
- Facilitate conversation,
- Promote the program,
- Organise how the sessions will run, and
- Coordinate social cultural activities
How will I benefit?
You will meet new people and make new friends, as well as gain skills in:
- Intercultural awareness
- Leadership
- Problem solving
- Mentoring

Are there any special requirements for this role?
You must be a native or fluent speaker of the language you are volunteering for.
Minimum requirements for UOWx recognition
To receive UOWx Recognition, you must complete the following:
- An "engaged" student will need to complete a minimum 16 hours in a calendar year
- A "highly engaged" student will need to complete 20 hours in a calendar year
