How is this program run?

This program is running face-to-face and online.


What will I do?

UOW College Peer Learning Leaders provide Peer Learning Support to students enrolled in College academic and vocational courses. Peer Learning Leaders prepare activity sheets and tutorial exercises, deliver Peer Assisted Learning workshops, provide in-class learning support and engage in one-to-one Peer Assisted Consultations.


How will I benefit?

As a Peer Learning Leader, you will:

  • Gain a deeper understanding of UOW College course material;
  • Improve problem-solving skills, and;
  • Develop independent learning and teamwork abilities.

Prospective Peer Learning Leaders can register their Expression of Interest by emailing uowcollege-peerlearning@uow.edu.au.


Are there any special requirements for this role?

To be eligible to become a Peer Learning Leader, the applicant must:

  • Be a former student at the College;
  • Be enrolled in a UOW course, and;
  • Have achieved distinction average marks in a College course.

Minimum requirements for UOWx recognition

To receive UOWx Recognition, you must complete the following:

  • An ‘engaged’ student will need to complete a minimum 20 hours in a calendar year
  • A ‘highly engaged’ student will need to complete 60 hours in a calendar year
