UOW Entrepreneurs - Entrepreneurial Mindset

Activity overview

How is this program run?

This program is running online only.

What will I do?

Entrepreneurship is not just about starting a business; it is a mindset, a way of thinking and acting that drives individuals to identify opportunities, take calculated risks and create value. Entrepreneurs are innovators, problem-solvers and visionaries who thrive in uncertainty and adversity. In this module, students learn about what it means to have an entrepreneurial mindset and the importance of starting with a problem when developing their ideas.

This module has been developed by iAccelerate as part of its UOW Entrepreneurs program and is funded by the NSW Government’s Technology, Innovation and Entrepreneurship Skills (TIES) grant.

How will I benefit?

By the end of this module students will be able to:

  • Define entrepreneurship and its role in society;
  • Understand the key qualities of successful entrepreneurs and be able to reflect on and assess their own entrepreneurial qualities;
  • Be able to articulate the significance of problem solving as a core aspect of entrepreneurial endeavours;
  • Identify problems they are passionate about solving, that integrate personal interests and skills with entrepreneurial goals and real-world challenges;
  • Brainstorm ideas for potential solutions using tools like Design Thinking.
