UOW Entrepreneurs - Test Your Idea

Activity overview

How is this program run?

This program is running online only.

What will I do?

In this module students learn the importance of testing their ideas and making small, incremental changes along the way to develop a sustainable solution. They will be introduced to the Lean Startup methodology as a tool to guide them through this process.

This module has been developed by iAccelerate as part of its UOW Entrepreneurs program and is funded by the NSW Government’s Technology, Innovation and Entrepreneurship Skills (TIES) grant.

How will I benefit?

By the end of the module students will:

  • Understand why idea testing is important;
  • Recognise key components of the Lean Startup methodology and how these apply to the successful development of emerging ideas;
  • Use the Value Proposition Tool to define and examine the customers/users that could benefit from their idea, how it brings value to them and the problem it solves;
  • Explore the process of customer discovery and how this helps to further refine ideas;
  • Understand why prototyping is an important part of idea testing and create their own prototypes;
  • Identify the assumptions they are making about their idea, and solution, and learn how it's important to continually test them.

How do I apply?

Enrol into the UOW Entrepreneurs Moodle site and complete the module online.
