Overview

Marketing (major)

Marketers manage the activities, institutions and processes responsible for creating, communicating and delivering products and services. This includes facilitating relationships to deliver value for consumers, clients and society. From identifying the target customer to developing a competitive advantage, marketing is a crucial activity for all businesses.

During this major, you will be immersed in marketing, from understanding consumer behaviour and measuring the effectiveness of communication channels, to the product positioning and the effectiveness of market research. Learn how to use creative advertising techniques, including graphic design software, to develop creative and effective marketing communications and see how marketing can influence positive change in social behaviour.

You will also undertake a final-year capstone subject that lets you apply everything you have learned in collaboration with students from other disciplines. Plus, you have the option of applying for an internship to gain valuable experience while receiving credit towards your degree.
