Overview

Gain practical, real-world experience and make professional connections when you study a Bachelor of Business at UOW. Develop core skills across all business functions, as you build specialist knowledge to excel in today's dynamic and complex business environment.

Your first year will address all core disciplines of business, giving a solid understanding of issues facing organisations today. You will then have the option to select a major in one or more of the principal areas of business. If you do not wish to select a major, you will complete advanced business subjects of your choosing, providing extensive knowledge and expertise across the field of business.

Additionally, you will complete a final-year capstone subject that lets you apply everything you've learned in collaboration with students from other disciplines. Plus, you'll have the option of applying for an internship to gain valuable experience while receiving credit towards your degree.

The Bachelor of Business can form the first three years of a UOW Integrated Master's (IM), allowing you to complete your Bachelor of Business and a master's degree in four years.

Management (major)

Managing is both an art and a science, involving strategic planning, systematic organisation, and effective leadership of a team towards achieving success. Effective managers adeptly navigate challenges, inspire team members, strategically utilise resources and make socially responsible decisions to drive success.

The management major provides you with a multifaceted learning experience, offering opportunities to understand and optimise business processes, explore the intricacies of sustainability and social responsibility in corporate contexts, and master the art of leading people.

Students will gain invaluable hands-on experience through engaging in internships or participating in capstone projects, ensuring a well-rounded and experiential understanding of their field of study.
