Overview

Develop a set of niche skills as an engineer with expertise in computer science, or a computer scientist with the added bonus of engineering knowledge. Due to rapid developments in computer technology and its application to engineering, there is a significant demand for engineers with a much broader knowledge of computer interfacing and programming.

Throughout the Bachelor of Computer Science, you will study the theoretical foundations of computer science and IT, with the opportunity to specialise in a major. In your final year you will develop your own application as part of a team project developing solutions to real-world problems provided by our industry partners.

The Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) is a four-year degree with the option to major in your chosen specialisation. You will have access to fully equipped laboratories and the latest computer-aided software used in modern industrial workplaces. This degree also includes 12 weeks of industry experience providing valuable practical training.

See the course handbook for more information.

A double degree at UOW provides a world-class qualification in less time and at less cost than studying the two degrees separately. Having a double degree will give you a competitive advantage in a crowded job market.

You can specialise in a major by choosing from the following:
