Overview

The CHC33015 Certificate III in Individual Support will develop your skills and abilities to provide person-centred support to those with a disability, ageing or some other reason.  

You will graduate in 5 months with a Nationally Recognised Qualification ready for a rewarding career, enabling you to make a difference in the lives of others. 

This course is offered face-to-face at the UOW Wollongong campus. Course delivery will occur in classrooms and the UOW College Simulated Nursing Lab. You will be required to attend a minimum of 21 hours of face-to-face study per week. You will study 15 units of competency and undertake 120 hours of practical work placement to complete this qualification. This course is also available as a workplace traineeship, and a school-based traineeship (SBAT) and is offered by our pathway provider, UOW College Australia

Pathways

Upon successful completion of this course, you may progress to the HLT54121 Diploma of Nursing* with some credits or directly into the first year of the Bachelor of Nursing.

Achieve a minimum result of exit Level 2 in both Literacy and Numeracy online assessment; and

Minimum age 16 years at course enrolment

    • Credit for Prior Learning

      If you have undertaken previous study or have relevant work and life experience, you may be eligible for credit towards your VET course, known as recognition of prior learning. Recognition of prior learning requires an assessment of your past learning or work experience for equivalency with the content delivered in your chosen course. Recognition of prior learning can include previous education, work experience, or other relevant training. The eligibility criteria and process for applying for recognition and credit will depend on the course and the nature of your prior learning.
