Overview

Entry into the Graduate Certificate in Fisheries Management and Development is subject to selection by ANCORS and collaborative partner, Solomon Islands National University. 

The Graduate Certificate in Fisheries Management and Development is designed for professionals currently working as fisheries policy officers, mid-level managers and enforcement officers working in the governments of Pacific Island members of the Pacific Islands Forum Fisheries Agency (FFA).  

This degree provides a broad understanding of the principles of fisheries management, including aspects relating to science, economics and law.  

Students will gain knowledge of areas such as fisheries law, fisheries management, the incorporation of science into decision-making, data collection and management, monitoring, control and surveillance and international negotiations.

Fee subsidised places available 

UOW is offering Commonwealth supported places (CSPs) for all of our postgraduate coursework degrees in 2025. This means the Australian government will subsidise your tuition fees by up to 75%. To be eligible for this fee subsidy, you must meet the following criteria: Be a domestic student, i.e. an Australian or New Zealand citizen, a permanent resident of Australia or a permanent Australian Humanitarian visa holder.
