Overview

The Graduate Certificate in Public Health is a flexible program that provides a broad introduction to public health. It enables graduates to confidently work with communities to contribute to effective and sustainable public health practices, both nationally and internationally. You'll gain an insight into the challenges involved in improving the health of our vulnerable communities and the range of career opportunities available in public health.

During the degree, you will study two core subjects in public health, as well as two electives from within the public health subject offerings. You will engage in innovative and cutting-edge learning experiences that provide strong work-ready skills, as well as a keen analytic social lens to address issues of global health significance.

The Graduate Certificate in Public Health also provides an ideal pathway to the Master of Public Health for applicants who do not meet the direct admission requirements for that course.

See the course handbook for more information.

Fee subsidised places available

UOW is offering Commonwealth supported places (CSPs) for all of our postgraduate coursework degrees in 2025. This means the Australian government will subsidise your tuition fees by up to 75%. To be eligible for this fee subsidy, you must meet the following criteria: Be a domestic student, i.e. an Australian or New Zealand citizen, a permanent resident of Australia or a permanent Australian Humanitarian visa holder.
