Overview

The Master of Public Health Extension provides a comprehensive introduction to public health. The extended degree allows you to tailor your learning to your career aspirations by completing additional specialisations or elective subjects.

Students will study four foundational (core) subjects in public health and can choose to specialise in the following:

  • Social systems
  • Big data and decision science
  • Indigenous health
  • Public health practice
  • Public health research (See details below for admission requirements)
  • Climate and environment

Students may choose to complete an additional specialisation and/or public health electives from the study areas above. Specialisation is not a requirement for this degree.

Additionally, the Master of Public Health Extension has a strong focus on Work Integrated Learning, industry connections, and practical placements (available through the Public Health Practice specialisation), where you may apply theoretical knowledge into practice.

See the course handbook for more information.
