UNIVERSITY OF WOLLONGONG (UOW) FUTURE STUDENTS’ NEWSLETTER TRADE PROMOTION – TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Entry into the University of Wollongong (UOW) Future Student Newsletter Trade Promotion (Promotion) is deemed to be an acceptance of the following terms and conditions. Entries must comply with these terms and conditions to be deemed a valid entry.

1. Promoter:
   2522. The Promoter is University of Wollongong (ABN 61 060 567 686) of Northfields Avenue, Wollongong, NSW, 2522.
2. Promotion Period:
   2025. The Promotion will run from Monday 8am (AEDST), 24 March 2025, until 3pm (AEDST) Friday December 19, 2025.
3. Eligibility:
   1. Entry is open to eligible persons who enter the Promotion in the valid form as outlined at clause 4 below (Entrant).
   2. Eligible persons include any student who is enrolled and studying at an onshore Australian high school in 2025 who, in the registration form, identifies themself as ‘High School Student’, or any person who identifies themselves as a Non-School Leaver who reside in New South Wales (NSW).
   3. The Promoter’s executive, management, employees and their immediate families, together with parents of students, careers advisers, agencies and suppliers associated with this Promotion are ineligible to enter.
4. Entry:
   1. To enter the Promotion, the Entrant must, during the Promotion Period:
      1. Read and agree to these terms and conditions of the Promotion; and
      2. Subscribe to the UOW Future Students Newsletter by entering their contact details on either the online form at https://mkto.uow.edu.au/School-Leaver-Newsletter_Subscription-Page.html or by using a 2025 UOW Future Student Newsletter sign-up card.
   2. Entry is limited to one per person only.
   3. No responsibility is accepted by the Promoter for late, failed, incomplete, illegible or incorrectly entered entries or for partial or garbled computer transmissions or technical failures of any kind.
   4. The Promoter reserves the right to verify the validity of entries. Entries that are forged, incomplete, illegible, or do not comply with these terms and conditions will be deemed invalid.
   5. The Entrant is responsible for any costs associated with entering the Promotion. Examples of such costs include, but are not limited to, the costs associated with accessing the internet by the Entrant or phone bills charged to the Entrant by the Entrant’s telecommunications provider.
5. Prizes:
   1. There are 20 individual prizes in this Trade Promotion that will be drawn throughout the promotion outlined at clause 6 below (Selection of Winner). The total value of the prize pool equals AUD $6000 the prize pool is comprised of the following:
      • Ten pairs of AirPods 4 with Active Noise Cancellation (ANC)
      • Ten $300 JB HiFi Gift cards
   2. Prizes, or any unused portion of a prize, are not transferable or exchangeable, and may not be redeemed for cash.
   3. All prizes are accepted entirely at the risk of the winner, and the Promoter excludes all warranties in connection with any prize to the extent permitted by law. The Promoter takes no responsibility for any prize damaged in transit. The Promoter is not responsible for defective prizes, lost or stolen prizes or misuse of any prize. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any variation in prize value (including between advertising of the Promotion and receipt of the prize).
   4. The Promoter reserves the right to substitute any prize with a prize of equal or greater value (including where the prize is unavailable for whatever reason), subject to approval of the gaming authorities in NSW, where required. Prizes have been confirmed in good faith and the Promoter cannot be held accountable for changes or withdrawals of prizes due to circumstances beyond its control.
   5. The prizes and/or any element of the prize must be taken as stated and cannot be varied by the winner. No compensation will be payable if the winner is unable to use their prize and/or any element of the prize as stated.
6. Selection of Winners:
   4. The winner of the prize pack will be selected out of the pool of Entrants who have entered the Promotion in the valid form as outlined at clause 4.
   5. The selection of the winner will be via random number generator.

7. Notification of Winners:
   1. The winners will be contacted via any of the contact methods provided in their entry at 3pm on the day their prize is drawn (see schedule above).
8. Identification of Winners:
   1. Where requested by the Promoter, the winners must provide evidence which, to the reasonable satisfaction of the Promoter, demonstrates that they are the winner, were eligible to enter the Promotion, and has complied with these terms and conditions.
9. Claiming of prize(s):
   1. The prizes will be available for the winners to collect at 3pm on the day their prize is drawn (see schedule above).
   2. The winner must present themselves in person to The Future Students Counter in UOW Student Central, building 17, UOW Wollongong Campus and provide the identification required under clause 8 above to receive their prize.
   3. If a winner is unable to collect their prize in person during this period, arrangements will be made for the prize to be sent via courier or registered post.
10. Unclaimed prize(s):
    1. Reasonable efforts will be made by the Promoter to contact any winner who does not respond to the notification outlined at clause 7 above.
    2. Winners who do not respond to the notification within 10 business days will be withdrawn without further notice. Any prize not claimed and subsequently withdrawn by the Promoter will be reallocated via a redraw.
11. Redraw of prize(s):
    1. Redraw of a prize will occur in the same manner as outlined in clause 6 above. The winners will be contacted via any of the contact methods provided in their entry.
    2. Previous winners of any draw and any prize in the Promotion are ineligible to claim additional prizes.
    3. The redraw of prizes and contacting of the new winner will occur ten business days after the initial winner was contacted, with the new winner to be contacted on at 3pm on the day of the redraw.
    4. Any prizes not claimed by 3pm Friday 19 December 2025 will be withdrawn from future claim by the announced winners, or other entrants.
       
       
12. Record keeping:
    1. The Promoter will retain all records relating to the Promotion for a minimum period of twelve (12) months following the claiming and/or withdrawing of all prizes.
13. Promoter’s decision:
    1. If there is a dispute about the conduct of the Promotion (including the identity of a winner), the decision of the Promoter is final and binding on each Entrant and no correspondence will be entered into.
14. Liability and release:
    1. The Promoter shall not be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever which is suffered (including, but not limited to, indirect or consequential loss) or for any personal injury, loss or damage suffered or sustained (even if caused by negligence) in connection with participating in the Promotion or accepting or using a prize, except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law.
    2. If, for any reason, the Promotion is not capable of running as planned, the Promoter reserves the right in its sole discretion to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Promotion, subject to any directions from a regulatory authority.
    3. All Entrants release from, and indemnify the Promoter against, all liability, cost, loss, or expense arising out of acceptance of any prize(s) or participation in this Promotion including (but not limited to) personal injury and damage to property and whether direct or consequential, foreseeable, due to some negligent act or omission or otherwise.
15. Privacy:
    1. UOW is committed to protecting the privacy of entrants and winners. The handling of personal information collected by UOW in connection with the Promotion will be in accordance with UOW’s Privacy Policy, available at https://www.uow.edu.au/privacy/.     2. By entering the Promotion, all Entrants acknowledge that the Promoter will use and disclose the Entrant’s personal information to the extent required to conduct the Promotion, including, verifying, assessing, and judging the entries, and issuing the prizes.
