Application process
Have you applied to study with UOW and are wondering what happens next? Here is what you need to know.
Timing
The length of time it takes to process your offer depends on the type of course you have applied for:
- If you have applied for an undergraduate or postgraduate coursework program, you can expect to learn the outcome of your application in approximately two to four weeks.
- If you have applied for a research program you can expect to learn of the outcome of your application in approximately six weeks.
Successful application
If your application to study with UOW is successful, you will receive an email containing your Offer of Admission letter. This letter is official notification that you have been offered a place at UOW and, if required, a preparatory English or academic program at UOW College Australia.
If you applied through a UOW international representative, your Offer of Admission letter will be sent directly to you and your representative by email.
This Offer of Admission letter contains important information about your program of study and conditions that may apply to your offer. To ensure your acceptance is as easy and smooth as possible, please read About Your Offer.
Offer conditions
Your offer may come with conditions that you need to meet before you can accept your offer, such as finishing your current study, meeting the English language requirements for your course, or providing original or copies of your academic documents. These conditions will be listed in your Offer of Admission. If you have any questions about the conditions on your offer, please contact us.
Next steps
The next step is to accept your offer. Once you have accepted your offer, you can start the process to apply for a student visa and accommodation in Wollongong, and to prepare for your arrival.

Unsuccessful application
If your application is unsuccessful, you will receive notification by email within the timeframe outline above. The email will include the reason why your application was unsuccessful.
